Project Update

Well the Farmer's Market String Bag is done and I am already 3/4 of the way done with the Coachella. Now I'm perusing other patterns in my queue to start soon. I am thinking of the Tea Rose Haulter Top from Knits Spring 2007 issue.

A visit with the hens

The family and I went out to the farm to pick up our fresh pork yesterday. While we were there I had a chance to check on the chickens we will be bringing home in the Spring. Here I am holding a Rhode Island Red. We decided to make her our fifth chicken in our little flock.

Here's a shot of all the chickens. They are almost old enough to join the other chickens in the open run. They are so cute!

Lazy Sunday

It's warming up and the snow is finally getting a chance to melt. I can see green on parts of the ground. Couple more weeks and I'll be able to paint the coop and get the run built I think.

Kailie's baby alpaca socks are done so now I'm trying to decide what project to start next??

Our Chicken Coop

Here is a picture of our new chicken coop. We still need to get it painted and build the run before we can bring the hens home this spring. Everything is just waiting on the ground to thaw.

Help American Family Farms!

Farm Aid's new tool allows you to make your voice heard for family farmers.

Tell Congress to make farmers a part of the economic recovery

To tell your congressional representatives that a comprehensive economic stimulus must include family farmers, use our form with sample text to send an email to ask them to:

  • Ensure that farmers—including beginning farmers—have access to the credit they need to grow our food and our economy.
  • Grant farmers the same safeguards that homeowners receive so that farmers facing foreclosure do not lose their farm and their home.
